John Ramondi

Native of Springfield graduated from West Springfield High School; started in golf business at age 14, as apprentice under Fred Ridgen at Springfield CC; worked at A.G Spalding; assistant pro at Franconia GC in Springfield, under Henry Bontempo, from 1929-48; head pro at Memorial GC in Springfield from 1948-67 and at Veterans GC in Springfield from 1962-69; known for expertise in club repair and restoration; once built a 3-wood for Gene Sarazen; expert restorer and repairer of clubs; Western Mass. Tee Party honoree in 1948; was married to wife Evelyn (DuBour) for 63 years before he passed away at age 84 in 1993.
