Michelle Dobek

Chicopee native played full-time on the LPGA Tour throughout the 1990s and parts of next decade; tied for 10th at LPGA Championship in 1996 and placed ninth at Star Bank LPGA Classic in 1997; played in five U.S. Women’s Opens; won twice on Futures Tour; turned pro at age 22 in 1988; holds Class A status in both LPGA Touring and Teaching divisions; began playing golf at age 5, at parent’s driving range on Chicopee Street; career-low competitive round of 66, with five career aces; educated at Chicopee High School and Florida International University; current teaching pro at Fairview CC in Greenwich, Conn.; one of four children of the late Mitchell and Florence Dobek; credits Western Mass. Hall of Famer Harry Mattson Jr. and parents among those most influencing her career.
